Full verbly review of Infinix Note 7
This is the full verbly review of Infinix Note 7. I did the unboxing of this phone a few days ago, and you guys gave a very good response on that article , and I would like to thank you all for that. Infinix Note 7 is launched with two variants in Pakistan, 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. And the price of 4GB RAM variant is Rs 27,000/- Whereas, the price of 6GB RAM variant is Rs 29,000/- Which is very aggressive pricing, And may be this is the reason that there is so much interest in this phone by everyone. You might've heard that Infinix phones comes with ads, but you can turn these ads off and I explain this procedure later in this article.
Let's start with our review now, keep watching! At the front of Infinix Note 7, a Gorilla Glass protection is given. Whereas, the back and frame is of plastic. In the price range below Rs 30,000/- a plastic build is given usually. Therefore, I don't have any complain with it. But as far as the looks are concerned, the design at the back of Infinix Note 7 is quite attractive. Specially, this forest green colour has reminded me of Y9 Prime 2019. And I have recieved feedback from many of you that they've really liked this design. The size of the phone is quite big, This phone is counted easily among the biggest phones of this time. If we talk about the hand feel, I really liked it. The phone's volume keys are on the right side along with the power button/finger print sensor. Whereas, on the left side, there is the phone's sim alot and at bottom side there is the headphone jack, mic, Micro USB Port and a speaker. Infinix Note 7 has a 6.95 inches Infinity O Display. With an HD Resolution, which is 720 x 1640. And a special thing about this display is that a hole punch cutout is given in it. Which is in trend in 2020 phones these days. First, lets talk about this 720p reolution. So definitely when you take a look at the specifications 1080p Displays are a lot better. But personally, I don't have any issues with the 720p Displays. I even use my Note 9 with 720p Display, mostly to give a lesser load on the processor and the battery of the phone. And on a 720p display, I have never felt any pixelation or quality loss, even in big phones too. According to me, your daily usage experience is not at all disturbed. And if we talk about it overall, then most of the people are concerned about big size and the hole punch cutout. And both of these things are available in this phone. Moving forwards, we'll talk about the camera setup of Infinix Note 7. At the back side, in this circular array a Quad Camera setup is given. Which includes a 48MP f/1.8 aperture Wide Angle lens. This sensor is of 12MP physically but by process which is called 'De-mosaicing' it can provide up to 48MP images too. And this is the same sensor that we have seen before in Infinix S5 Pro. And the performance of that phone's camera was much better than my expectaions Moving forwards, Note 7 has a 2MP Macro sensor, 2MP Depth Sensor and a 2MP dedicated video camera. Whereas, there is a 16 MP selfie shooter on the front side. If we talk about image samples, I liked the colour reproduction of this phone. But images were coming out quite soft in Note 7. Seems like this phone do an aggressive de-noising which makes the images soft. If you'll compare it with Realme 5i, and I consider Realme a Camera King in this price range, you will notice that Infinix Note 7, just as S5 Pro is a little weak in dynamic range. Where you can see a blue sky in Realme 5i image, the sky is completely blown out white in Infinix Note 7. But I also found the colour reproduction of Infinix Note 7's camera to be accurate also. And due of its cooler colour profile, I found most images of Note 7 to be more pleasing than Realme 5i images. Like here, and here.
If we talk about portrait mode, the phone was detecting edges rightly. And as I told you before, this camera can take 48MP images too by de-mosaicing which will give you more detailed images. If we talk about the Macro camera, due to being 2MP images comes out to be of low quality. And if we talk about selfies, despite of having a 16MP sensor, images were soft and grainy. And the dynamic range was not good too, where you can see a blown out sky in the background. The phone records a video in maximum 1080p resolution, and an Electronic Image Stabilization is present here. According to me, this camera is above average for a Rs 27,000/- to Rs 29,000/- price range. It can not beat Realme still, as we had seen in S5 Pro review too. Realme is still a Camera King according to me. But, this camera has also performed a lot better than my expectations. Now lets talk about Infinix Note 7's performance and hardware specifications. There is a MediaTek Helio G70 processor in the phone, with a Mali G52 GPU. This processor and GPU configuration, and overall the MediaTek Helio G series, is geared for gaming and high performance usage. We have seen the MediaTek Helio G series before in Realme C2, and in Redmi Note 8 Pro. And both of the phones, according to me, perform very good. And the performance of this phone has been quite impressive too. If we first go through the Benchmark results, then the single core score of Infinix Note 7 in Geekbench 4 came out to be 1830 whereas, multi-core score came out to be 6016. In Rs 27,000 to Rs 29,000 price range scores like 1800 and 6000 are very rare. Infinix Note 7, despite of having the lowest price among the main competitors has the highest Benchmark scores of all.
Redmi Note 8's Snapdragon 665 is no way comparable to Helio G70. And Vivo Y19 and Realme 6i scores have not only been matched by Infinix Note 7, but also surpassed them with a little margin. But these are synthetic benchmarks, so how is the actual performance of this phone? Note 7 worked very smooth for me in normal daily usage. You could feel that its processor is very powerful. Phone starts up quickly every loads fast too And this phone will carry all your daily usage apps very well. And the 6GB RAM variant can also let many apps working in the background as well. Which will reduce the loading time of apps even more. But many of you want to know how efficient the phone is for gaming. So, as our culture, I played Pubg in Infinix Note 7, and the ran on high settings by default. And the gameplay was smooth as well, I did not feel any lag nor the phone was warming much. Along with it, I played Call of Duty: Mobile here too, but here, considering the processor, it is surprising that this game worked on low settings. But overall, the experience was all okay.
Along with it, this phone comes with a full dual sim support, which means there is a dedicated SD card slot here. And you can insert two sims and a micro SD card, altogether. Now if we talk about this phone's side mounted finger print sensor, I had a little problem with it in start, because I wasn't used to it and sometimes it was unable to read my fingerprint clearly. But when I registered the same finger 2 to 3 times, it was working fine after that. Then later, you can see that the speed of the sensor was quite fast.
Moving forwards, we will talk about the phone's speakers. Dual stereo speakers are given in Infinix Note 7. One speaker is at the bottom, and the other one is at top near the ear piece. If we talk about the quality of the speakers, it is not much rigged, for sure. The sound is very flat, with alot of treble and you will not feel much base. But right now, in this price range, no other competitor is giving you a dual speaker. And for that, I consider Dual speakers as a plus point. Talking about the interface, this phone comes with Android 10 on which there is Infinix's own XOS. I don't have any complains with this interface, but in this price range I like Realme UI more. because of its stock android feel. And some bloatware comes with this OS and like I told you before, you will observe some ads in the start too. But you can switch them off. So first of all, disable the instant apps at the top right in the app drawer. Long press on the homescreen, go in the menu, and search settings and other settings, and disable recent apps, hot searches, and instant apps. And finally zero screen, which is on the left, disable hot themes from the settings there too. Ads will turn off here as well. Along with it, I will also suggest to delete all the bloatware ans all the useless apps. And whichever notifications will annoy you, you can turn them off from the notification settings too. And all of this will hardly take 5 minutes, but your experience will be improved alot. Moving forwards, we will talk about Infinix Note 7's battery and charging setup. A 5,000 mAh big battery is given in the phone. And this phone comes with 18W fast charging. And here as well, if you campare it with some established market pairs, Then Infinix Note 7's battery size and charging speed is what you get in 30K, 31K or 32K phones. And keep it in mind, that the 4GB variant of Infinix Note 7 is retailed on Rs 27,000/-
If we talk about charging time, 30% battery charged in half hour, half battery in 45 minutes. And it will take almost 2 hours to fully charge the battery. But with full battery, and because of a 720p display, even with a heavy usage, it was difficult for me to drain this battery in one day. And if your usage is medium to light, this phone will give you 1.5 to 2 days easily. And if the usage is very light, it might give more than it. With this big battery and a fast charging, you will not have any battery issues with this phone. At the end, if I talk about some of my final thoughts, I think, Infinix Note 7, because of its powerful processor and its big battery, can be a good option for power users, performance users and gamers. Along with that, if you watch a lot of videos on your phone, and consume a lot of content then because of its big display and big battery, this phone can be good for you too. But the most favourite thing about this phone for me, is its price. It has undercut all the other competitors with its low price.
In my opinion, Infinix Note 7 will perform great in the market. A lot of you guys also said that they want to decide between this phone and Redmi Note 8. Redmi Note 8's build quality is better and its display is better. Whereas, in Infinix Note 7 has a big battery, more powerful processor and a bigger display in which a hole punch cutout is given. So it is upon your own preferance, that which one do you prefer. But I want to know which one would you pick between these two?
