Hello and welcome the Xiaomi Pocophone, and now finally, Xiaomi Pocophone has been launched in Pakistan. After the blockbusters phones like Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi 5 Pro now, people are calling Pocophone, Xiaomi's new champion. Officially, Pocophone will launch in 2 colours in Pakistan Black and Blue. If we talk about the price then, Pocophone F1, in Pakistan, is available for the retail price of Rs. 55,000/- and only a single variant is being launched, that is of 128GB, internationally Pocophone does launch with a 64GB variant, but I don't know why it is not launching in Pakistan, because if it was launched in Pakistan, it would have been in the price of Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 47,000, and would have been an amazing option. Lets start with the built quality. There is Gorilla Glass 3 at the front of the Pocophone while the back is of Ploy-carbonate Plastic. Where, having a plastic back, the feel of this phone is not that premium, but because of no metal and glass the phone will be much more durable. The plastic neither shatters nor dents. The thing I found disappointing is that neither was there a pre-applied screen protector with this phone, nor does it comes with one in the box, And this phone is not that common so, when you will buy this phone you would have to order the screen protector. I just had this phone for a few days, and their is a scratch on glass now. Along with it, like always, the phone comes with a Silicon protective case. which is same as we have seen in the Redmi 5 Plus, and Redmi Note 5 Pro. If we talk about the hand-feel, the phone is great to hold. The overall feel of the phone is Plasticy, but this phone does not feel cheap. Because of its big battery this phone's weight is also great and the phone is comfortable in hands. Now, lets get to the display. There is a 6.8 inches of full HD IPS LCD display in Pocophone which has a resolution of 2246x1080, and pixel density is 403 ppi, the maximum brightness of the display is 500 nits which means that you can use this phone in direct sunlight. There is a notch on top of the display and the phone's forehead and side bezels are a little wider and just like all the other Android phone the chin is also a lot wider. I really liked the overall quality of the phone the Blacks are not that deep, but the colours are really saturated and pops and for me pixel density of 403 ppi is very crisp. Along with it, an interesting thing is you have an option to turn off this notch which becomes useless with the IPS LCD panel, because the Blacks of IPS are not that deep, but when you turn off the notch then the notifications, network and battery indicators remain at the top. meaning that screen real state does not go to wastes completely. For everyday use I really liked the display of Pocophone F1. Now lets get to the performance which is the biggest marketing point of this phone There is the Snapdragon 845 processor in Pocophone F1 along with it, there is Adreno 630 GPU, and 6GB RAM. Officially, Pocophone will launch with 128GB in Pakistan and there is also a hybrid SIM slot in this phone, in which you can insert, either a SIM and a micro SD card of up to 256GB, or 2 SIMs.
If we compare it with the competitors of this price range till now, we have seen processors like Snapdragon 660 and MediaTek Helio P60, in font of them, the terror of this liquid cool Snapdragon 845 is of another world. The phone is really snappy in daily use, meaning there was no lag in my usage, the apps open really fast and the overall experience was really smooth. Along with it, if we talk about gaming then, then because of its Snapdragon 845 and Adreno 640 GPU, Pocophone can run heavy games. I played PUBG on High settings in this phone, and I did not feel any lag, and in fact I won the game.
If we talk about the interface, MiUI for Poco is added in Pocophone F1 out of the box, an app drawer comes with this interface, which I liked. I was really happy to see that there is a USB-C port in Pocophone and obviously there is a headphone jack in the phone. If we talk about the fingerprint sensor, the speed was good, but its not very fast, it is not of Oppo level, but will work, along with it, there is also face unlock in the phone. Overall, the phone's performance has impressed me a lot, which is not a surprise with the Snapdragon 845. Now, lets talk about the battery. There is a huge battery of 4,000 mAh in Pocophone F1, and this phone supports Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 and out of the box,' ships with a power brick capable of fast charging. With this much of a big battery, the phone will pass 1 - 1.5 days with heavy usage, and if you are a light user then 2 days can also pass. If we talk about the charging time, the phone took 10 minutes to charge from empty to 10%, 24 minutes to charge 25%, it took 45 minutes to get to 50%, and it took a few minutes more than 2 hours to charge the full battery, which is not as fast as the Oppo VOOC charging, but it is absolutely suitable for everyday usage. This phone is really great according to battery life and charging time.
Now, lets talk about the camera. There is a dual camera in the Pocophone which includes a 12MP main sensor with f/1.9, and a 5MP depth sensor. And at the front, there is a 20MP selfie shooter in the phone. Talking about the back camera, I really liked the results. The colour reproduction of the camera was very accurate to a great extent. And for this price range the dynamic range has impressed me, but if we compare it with the high end camera of Note 9, then the dynamic range is not of flagship level. Along with it the images were very clear and detailed, but if we compare it with the flagship camera of Note 9 then the difference is visible. Still, overall, I really liked the camera, it is not the best, but isn't bad for the price either. You would see the same thing in the low light performance where performance is not of flagship level, but is decent. Talking about the selfie camera, I do not take much selfies, but I found the results to be fine. In my eyes, Xiaomi's Pocophone is a great option. The rumors I have heard about it, I found it to be justified. Yes, it can be said that this phone is not the best anything, but this phone does everything, decently. Its built quality and materials aren't best, but because of Plastic its life will be better. The processor and RAM configuration is also not the best but the performance is really great. The camera is also not the best, but it is great for everyday need. And battery size and battery life is also not the best but is really great. This phone is best in just a single thing, and that is its price range. In the price range of Rs. 50,000/-, at this time, you cannot beat this phone, and its specs are similar to the leading flagships of nowadays Where the phones of OnePlus, have gotten to the price range of Rs. 80,000 - 90,000 there, this Xiaomi's Pocophone is the new flagship killer of today. So, if you are a power user and are looking for a phone in upper mid range, then i would suggest you to buy the Pocophone F1.
