Hello and welcome this is the full unboxing of Oppo A9 2020 and its full review, Just a few weeks ago, Oppo has launched A9 2020 and it was launched in Lahore, and I also attended that launch event, and I tried to make a vlog their but because of bad lightening, focus problems, and bad audio that vlog was never made. Your brother also won a VOOC charger their and I have also recorded some perspectives from stage. Anyway, lets get to the A9 2020, so, there are 2 colours available of this phone, Space Purple, and Marine Green. And the phone comes with 8GB RAM the official price of which is Rs. 47,000/- but if you check the price on "Shopsy.pk" you can get this phone for Rs. 45,000/-. Now, lets get to the phone's Unboxing and its full review. Keep Reading ! First lets take a look at the box, there are some main specs of A9 2020 mentioned on the box an Ultra Wide camera of 48MP, a battery of 5,000 mAh, Snapdragon 665, Game Boost 2.0, and dual speakers of Dolby Atmos. Now, lets remove the plastic from the box. And then remove the lid. There is this folder on top of everything, which includes a SIM ejector tool, some User Manuals, and a Silicon Protective case. And here is the handset of Oppo A9 2020, but before giving it a look lets look at the remaining contents of the box. There is a 10W non-fast charging capable power brick in the box which we will talk about further in the video, and along with it there is a USB Type-C cable, and a hands-free headset. Now, lets remove the wrapper from the handset and take a closer look at it.
If we talk about the build quality, then there is Gorilla Glass 3 at the front of Oppo A9 2020, while the back is of Poly-carbonate or Plastic. There is this S-shaped gradient pattern on the back of the phone, and indeed it is very beautiful and eye catching. Our today's device is Space Purple which gives out some shades of Blue and Purple and the edges on the back are curved which makes the hand-feel of the phone great, and makes it comfortable to hold. And along with it, due to a big battery, the phone also has some weight to it. Even so being Plastic, I did not feel this phone to be cheap or tacky from anywhere. And if we overall talk about this price range then we have mostly seen Poly-carbonate backs in most of the phones, there are just some phones that come out which have Glass back but with the Poly-carbonate back the phone also stays somewhat more durable and overall, I do not have any complaints about the built quality of A9 2020. If we talk about the display, there is an IPS LCD panel added in the phone which has a resolution of 720x1600, meaning it is 720p, and the pixel density is 270 ppi, while the brightness is 480 nits. The first thing is that in this price range, meaning in the price range of Rs. 45,000 - 47,000, we have not seen such a low resolution display, but, for me personally, the difference between 720p and 1080p, is very minor, I definitely do not mind a 720p display, in fact, I sometimes switch my Galaxy Note 9 to 720p resolution, so that my battery conserves a little bit, and usually leave it on 720p for a long time. and the fundamental reason for that is, with the 720p resolution, your battery have to run low pixels and your processor also have to handle low pixels, because of which your phone also runs smoothly, and there is lesser load on the battery. But, it would have been better if there was a full HD display in this phone, and we had the option to change the it to 720p resolution. Overall, having a 720p display in a phone of Rs. 47,000, is a downside. Now lets talk about he performance and specifications, so, in A9 2020 there is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 665 processor is given which is based on 11nm architecture, along with it, there is Adreno 610 GPU. There is 8GB RAM in the phone and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, alongside that the phone also has full dual SIM support, meaning, in this phone, you can insert 2 SIMs and a micro SD card all together. But this feature is almost standard in this price range, we have seen this feature in every phone. If we talk about ht benchmark results then, the single-core score of Oppo A9 2020 in Geek bench 4 came out to be 1514 whereas the multi-core score came out to be 5391. The combination of Snapdragon 665 processor and Adreno 610 GPU is not weak in anyway but in this price range, we have also seen Snapdragon 710 and 712, but still, limited to Geek Bench 4 there is no major difference in the performance. but if we talk about the AnTutu scores here the phone's score came out to be 134,434 and this is a little on the lower side, even lower than Xiaomi Mi A3, even though there is the same processor and GPU combination in the Mi A3, which is a little weird thing. For me, in this price range, the AnTutu score of the phone should be around 135,000 or 150,000 so surely this score is quite low. Even then if we talk about the daily performance, the phone ran quite smoothly I did not feel any special lag and a big reason for that is there is a 720p display added in this phone, but lower resolution means the phone have to run loss pixels, because of which you will not feel any lag while navigating the interface, opening the apps, and menus, and in daily usage.
If we talk about the gaming then there is the presence of Oppo Game Boost 2.0 technology in A9 2020, and we played PUBG and Call of Duty in this phone. PUBG ran on low setting by default, but I also played it while increasing the settings, and I did not feel any major lag, but still in this phone you cannot play PUBG on high settings, some phones of this price range easily runs PUBG on high settings. If we talk about the Call of Duty the game overall ran smoothly, just occasionally some lag was felt, but the game was overall really playable. If we talk about the finger print sensor I feel the speed was really fast and really responsive but the depression of the fingerprint sensor on the back is really shallow, because of which it cannot be felt easily, it would have been better if it was a little deeper, but as soon as you put a Silicon Protective case on the phone then obviously you can will be able to feel it easily. Along with it, there are dual Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos, which are very rare in this price range among the main competitors of this phone, none of them have dual speakers till now, because of which, this phone can be a great option for content consumption, specially if you watch movies on it, and this is also a great thing for gaming as well. So, if we talk about overall performance, then A9 2020 surely is lacking behind from its competitors, specially if we look at the AnTutu scores and if we talk about gaming performance, but still overall, in daily usage and in content consumption this phone can be a great option for you. If we talk about the battery size then there is a 5,000 mAh battery added in here, but a surprising thing is that there is no fast charging support in the phone and out of the box the phone comes with a power brick of 2 Amp meaning a 10W charger. With this thing A9 2020 is receiving a lot of criticism and the fundamental reason for that is, in this price range you will not find any phone which does not have a support of fast charging. I cannot understand this that why, in the price range of Rs. 45,000 - 47,000, Oppo did not give fast charging? Specially in such a phone that is being called a battery monster, which is being marketed as a phone, with which you should do gaming consume content on, even reverse charging is also given in this phone, in my opinion you should have removed the reverse charging from this phone, and should give 6GB RAM, but should have given fast charging with it, that would have been a great move. And due to not having a fast charging, now, if you charge this phone then this phone will take almost 3 hours to get from empty to full. If we talk about the battery life then this phone's battery life is completely stellar, with 720p display and a huge battery like 5,000 mAh, this phone would run for 1.5 days easily and if your usage is light then 2 or 2.5 days can also pass by.
Now, lets talk about the cameras and traditionally Oppo is considered a camera king in mid-range phones. In A9, there is a 48MP main CMOS sensor at the back, with f/1.8 aperture. Along with it, there is an 8MP Ultra Wide sensor, and there are two sensors of 2MP each alongside it, which provide portrait features. And if we talk about the selfie cameras then in A9 at the front there is a 16MP Selfie shooter. If we take a look at the image samples, the images very very detailed, and the colour reproduction was also very accurate, this cameras Dynamic range has impressed me the most, which in my opinion is also comparable with the high end phones like Samsung Note 9. The images of this phone are really saturated but I found the sharpening to be somewhat aggressive in some images, the phone's macro images option was really interesting to me but the macro images were really low resolution and soft. If we talk about the selfie camera then the image quality is fine for daily use. If we talk about the final thoughts then in my opinion, the biggest selling point of Oppo A9 2020 is its camera. I really liked this camera performance of this phone, specially according to this price range. If we talk about the display, then surely 720p display is a downside but low resolution means that the phone has to run less pixels because of which the phone also consumes less battery and processing power is also consumed less, which results in better overall performance. The biggest weakness of this phone is that there is no fast charging support given in this phone and according to me, this will hurt the phone a lot in the market, because at this time, the competition is really tough in this price range. In front of Realme 5 pro, Vivo S1 Redmi Note 8 Pro like devices this phone has a tough competition. What are your thoughts regarding the Oppo A9 2020?
